What is Thunder hosting at Dreamforce 2026?
Thunder is hosting an industry reception in conjunction with Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce's annual global conference in San Francisco. The event brings together Thunder customers and prospective customers from across the commercial and public sectors, alongside technology partners and members of the broader Salesforce and AWS ecosystems.

Who attends?
The reception is open to a broad cross-section of the Dreamforce community — including commercial technology leaders, federal and state government representatives, nonprofit partners, and Salesforce and AWS ecosystem partners. It is not limited to any single industry, agency, or program. Dreamforce itself draws tens of thousands of attendees from across government, industry, academia, and the nonprofit sector, making it one of the most diverse professional gatherings in the technology industry.

Is this event compliant for federal employees to attend?
Yes — Thunder's Dreamforce reception is structured to qualify as a Widely Attended Gathering (WAG) under federal ethics regulations (5 C.F.R. § 2635.204(g)). A WAG must meet two criteria: broad attendance across a diverse range of interests and viewpoints, and a context that serves a legitimate professional or agency interest. Thunder's event meets both. The mix of commercial customers, government attendees, and industry partners reflects genuine diversity of viewpoint and interest — not a gathering limited to active government contractors or program stakeholders.

What is the Widely Attended Gathering (WAG) exception?
The WAG exception allows federal employees to accept free attendance at qualifying events hosted by contractors, provided the event is genuinely widely attended and diverse in its attendee base. The exception exists because participation in professional conferences and industry events serves the public interest — keeping government employees informed about technology trends, innovations, and capabilities relevant to their mission.

Does a federal employee need to do anything before attending?
Federal employees may be required to obtain written authorization from their agency ethics official prior to attending. Thunder is happy to provide any documentation needed to support that request, including event details, expected attendance, per-person cost estimate, and a description of the attendee mix.

What is the estimated per-person cost of food and beverage?
Thunder's per-person food and beverage cost for the reception is well within the $480 threshold established under federal ethics regulations for WAG-qualifying events.

Is attendance conditioned on any official action or business commitment?
No. Attendance is not conditioned on any contractual relationship, procurement action, or official government business of any kind.
