Five Ways to Celebrate Black History Month within the Salesforce Ecosystem

Black History Month

February is Black History Month! At Thunder, celebrating diversity is part of our daily culture, but we wanted to take a moment to offer up some suggestions on how we can all celebrate Black History Month – right within the Salesforce ecosystem!

  1. Check Out Blogs on Influential Black Leaders in the Ecosystem
You can start with this Salesforce The 360 Blog, Four of the Most Influential Black Women Inspire Change, where Donna Brazile, Yolanda Caraway, Pastor Leah Daughtry, and Minyon Moore visit Salesforce to share stories during a recent BOLDforce and Women’s Network event.

  2. Salute Black Trailblazers in the Salesforce.org Partner Network
Read and share Trailblazer stories honoring Black trailblazers like this The 360 Blog,  Let’s Honor Our Black Trailblazers, to learn how Black Trailblazers are setting big goals, reaching their career milestones, and inspiring others along the way.

  3. Partner with Black-Owned Non-Profits Amplify Their Impact
Get inspired by this Trailblazer episode highlighting Tiffany Spencer, COO of Esor Consulting, founded HBCU Force in 2019 to inspire students from Historically Black Colleges & Universities to pursue careers in tech.

  4. Download an AppExchange App Built by Black Entrepreneurs
Check out this medium.com article, 5 Black Entrepreneurs Share Why They Decided to Build an AppExchange App, to find some great examples.

  5. Donate to or Volunteer for Charities Supporting Ecosystem Diversity
A great example is Black Girls Code, an organization that builds pathways for young women of color to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer programming and technology.
Together we can make a booming impact at helping to diversify and celebrate Black colleagues in the Salesforce ecosystem.
