ThunderTogether Ensures Everyone Belongs at Thunder

ThunderTogether

Thunder is happy to announce our newly-formed affinity group, ThunderTogether! The purpose of this Diversity and Inclusivity initiative is to help us progress how we embody safe spaces and respect for all Thunder employees. We see this as an opportunity to further educate and create a sense of community and allyship both internally, and for our customers and partners.

Belonging is a critical part of diversity and inclusion in any workplace, but at Thunder we don’t just want people to belong – we want them to thrive! Coming from different cultures and backgrounds, we believe that we all need to do our part to acknowledge and celebrate our distinct heritage, and to let our unique identities be a strength we bring to all we do at Thunder.

“Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.”
— Vernā Myers, American Activist

As Thunder continues to quickly expand we are starting the conversation, eager to normalize talking about cultural traditions, race, religion, body positivity, gender identity and LGBTQIA issues. These are just some of the topics we will be fostering and cultivating as part of who we are as a company.

“Inclusion is not a matter of political correctness. It is the key to growth.”
— Jesse Jackson, Civil Rights Activist

How will we accomplish this? By hosting safe space talks, celebrating key dates for various cultures and walks of life, and making this a fun and interactive way for people to get involved and feel celebrated for their differences.

“As a woman of color working in technology, it has been hard for me to find places to work where I can relate to my coworkers and not feel invisible. ThunderTogether gives people like me a voice, and a seat at the table. I am really thrilled for our group to provide a safe space for people like me, to just be themselves, all parts of them!”
— Arleen Saluja-Westerkamp

Join us in celebrating this very exciting addition to the Thunder culture framework. The possibilities are endless for ThunderTogether, and we cannot wait to see where this takes us in 2023.
